Coaching for Teenagers

There’s no need to become someone else. You just need to discover who you are and have the courage to become all that you can be.

Cocaching for teenagers

Call me – I’m here to help.

Supporting young people in understanding themselves, discovering their potential and navigating the challenges of growing up with greater confidence.

Growing up brings many questions, challenges and opportunities.

The teenage years are a time of significant change. Young people are discovering their identity, developing their views of themselves and the world, making important decisions and navigating the expectations of others. School, relationships, friendships, sport, achievement and thoughts about the future can all bring pressure, self-doubt and uncertainty.

Sometimes, what they need most is someone who will listen, understand them and help them look at a situation from a different perspective.

Coaching for teenagers offers a safe space for conversation, reflection and personal growth. A space where young people can express their thoughts, explore their options, recognise their strengths and find answers that feel right for them.

My approach as a coach is guided by the belief that every young person has far more potential than they sometimes realise. With the right support, they can develop self-confidence, take responsibility for their decisions and learn to navigate challenges more effectively.

How can I help?

I tailor each coaching session to the individual, their needs, goals and current challenges.

Together, we can explore topics such as:

  • Self-confidence and self-esteem – recognising personal strengths, believing in oneself and feeling less pressure to compare oneself with others.
  • Motivation and goal-setting – discovering what truly matters, setting meaningful goals and taking the first steps towards achieving them.
  • School, learning and time management – organising responsibilities more effectively, developing positive study habits and taking ownership of their learning.
  • Balancing sport and school – managing training, competitions, schoolwork, rest and social life.
  • Pressure and expectations – navigating the fear of failure, other people’s expectations and the desire to achieve good results.
  • Relationships and communication – expressing opinions, setting boundaries, understanding others and communicating with greater confidence.
  • Decisions and the future – exploring different possibilities, recognising personal aspirations and making choices that feel true to who they are.

Supporting young athletes

Sport offers young people wonderful opportunities to develop discipline, perseverance, responsibility and teamwork. At the same time, it can bring considerable pressure, high expectations and the challenge of balancing different areas of life.

How can they balance school and training? How can they stay motivated when results are not what they hoped for? How can they deal with setbacks, competitive pressure or self-doubt? And how can they make time for rest, friends and the things they enjoy alongside their many commitments?

Through coaching, I help young athletes explore how to manage their time more effectively, recognise their personal strengths, set realistic goals and develop a mindset that supports both their sporting performance and personal growth.

The goal is not simply better results. It is to help young people develop their potential without losing sight of who they are.

Why work with me?

I have been working with young people for 30 years. Throughout this time, I have gained a deep understanding of their different personalities, aspirations, struggles, dilemmas and ways of thinking. I understand that what may appear to be a lack of motivation can sometimes stem from insecurity, fear of failure, excessive expectations or the feeling that nobody truly understands them.

I believe that teenagers do not always need advice or instructions about what to do. Often, what they need most is the opportunity to be heard, to be asked the right questions and to discover their own answers.

I create a safe, relaxed and encouraging environment where young people do not need to have all the answers from the start. Together, we explore possibilities, identify obstacles and find practical steps that help them move forward.

My role is not to make decisions for them, but to support them in developing self-confidence, independence and a sense of responsibility.

For teenagers and their parents

Growing up brings change for both young people and their parents. Sometimes, it can be difficult to find the right way to communicate, understand a teenager’s behaviour or offer support without adding further pressure.

Coaching can give teenagers the time and space they need for themselves while helping them develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

For parents, coaching can provide additional support in encouraging their teenager’s independence and personal development. When working with minors, we agree clearly in advance on how the coaching process will work, how parents will be involved and what the boundaries of confidentiality will be, always taking the teenager’s privacy and best interests into account.

Coaching is not a substitute for psychological or other professional support when a young person needs it.

Let’s take the first step.

A teenager does not need to have a clearly defined goal or know exactly what is troubling them. It is enough to want to make a change, understand themselves better or find a fresh perspective on a situation.

Together, we can explore what they need and how coaching can support them on their journey.
